In analyzing the references to rich metáis and precious stones in the Old Testament, the author discusses the magical, symbolic, and economic aspects of jewelry and goldsmith for men, women and the deities, including Yahweh. A comparison with the relevant archaeological findings will facilítate a better understanding of ancient Jewish jewelry.
