Abstract

Following a research on inventories from the 18th and the 19th centuries, the author discusses the folk jewellery of León province, in Spain; particularly necklaces, amulets, and earrings. In her discussion, the study of the written material appears enriched by, and in contrast to, the analysis of pieces owned by families living in the several areas of the province, or exhibited in museums and collections of other institutions.
