Del folclor a la Literatura: Vida de Pedro Saputo

In this paper I study the transformation of the folk character of the novel's hero in Vida de Pedro Saputo, known by his foolishness. I show as well the change and literary recreation performed by Braulio Foz in folktales inserted in the novel with one purpose: that the restoring and vindicating the hero. In my study of the process I have compared the folktales included in the novel with the previous different literary versions of Vida de Pedro Saputo, and the oral folktales diffused all over the Hispanic traditíon.
