This paper propases the comparison of sources (between both the emigration and immigration countries) and a historical-anthropological methodology to apply to the studies of Spanish migrations to America. This phenomenon is a «chain process» whose trends and proportíons may be analysed. Refering to the Galician migrations to Mexico, it is interesting to study the commemorative rites held by large family, as they show the tendency to mantain the links with the land of origin in order to reinforce the community and family identity.
