Cuatro corporales atribuidos a Santa Clara de Asís

This article is concemed with the authenticity of the four «corporales» supossedly owned by Saint Claire of Asís toda y preserved in two monasteries of Salamanca and Zamora. The tradition of giving the nuns as a present this sort of liturgical pieces is well documented through both prívate and public sources. The function, fabric and tecniques of these «corporales» are also studied, as well as the shift from being useful objects to be considered as relics decorated with embroideries and exhibited in reliquaries.
