Resumen


El artículo examina la guerra de drones como una forma de caza llevada a cabo por vía satélite desde la base militar aérea de Creech cerca de Las Vegas. El evento revelador inicial es el trauma que sufren los pilotos de drones debido a la intimidad visual con la que contemplan las consecuencias fatídicas de sus acciones. Se analiza el papel de la fantasía en el comportamiento de caza de los pilotos y en la retroalimentación mutua entre terrorismo y contraterrorismo. Se describe cómo funciona «el arte de matar” (De Quincey) en la guerra de drones a base de narrativa, eufemismos y video juegos. El artículo tiene en cuenta el papel trágico de Obama en la proliferación y normalización de los drones armados, así como la situación actual bajo la presidencia de Biden.
