Resumen

Vamos a dedicar este artículo a exponer algunos aspectos de los pequeños y medianos sistemas de riego autogestionados que aún existen en muchas partes del mundo y que conciben el agua como un bien común, diferenciándose de aquellos otros en los que es un recurso privado controlado individualmente. Se trata de regadíos de larga historia que han llegado a nuestros días no como restos del pasado, sino como sistemas que continúan cumpliendo funciones socioeconómicas y medioambientales esenciales. Son auténticos tesoros culturales que hay que estudiar, apoyar y preservar no solo por su valor cultural, sino también por sus roles económicos, sociales y ecológicos.
