Abstract

Following a research on literature the author discusses the wax as holy material, and particularly the Agnusdei —wax seal stamped with the image of the Lamb of God— as an important aspect of Christian devotion, its iconography and its social and symbolic aspects. In her discussion, the study of the written material appears in contrast to the analysis of pieces owned in Museo Nacional de Antropología, Madrid, and collections of other museums and institutions.
