The author assesses the anthropological valué of contemporary professional photography. Anthropology, which by definition is the study of anything human, can receive whatever proposals that professional photography has to offer and subject them to the transformations that the discipline may deem necessary. Nowadays, anthropologists cannot turn down the data that professional photography can supply, because it is a rich source of information and reflection.
