Abstract

This is a brief review of Father Cubero's main writings. An Aragonese missionary, he travelled around the world in the last third of the 17th century, passing by such conflictive areas as Hungary and Morocco. The paper emphasizes the phase of his trip in which he traveled from Spain to Persia, going through Poland, Lituania, Russia, and Armenia. Father Cubero's ethnographic remarks on these territories are brought to bear with those concomitant of previous and contemporary travelers.
