Founded by a group of women researchers at the University and the Archive of Barcelona interested in oral history and its methodology, the journal—originally titled Historia y Fuente Oral—has always been devoted to ethnographic research and anthropological theory. In 1995, a greater weight given to anthropological contributions made the editors decide to include the word «Antropología» in the journal´s title.
