The journal Quaderns (1st period, 1980-87; 2nd, since 1994) appeared as the organ of the Catalan Institute of Anthropology. Though dedicated since its first issue to Catalan traditional ethnology, Quaderns reveals an increasing interest in identities and frontiers, aimed at understanding societies from the interrelations affecting them and concerned with diversity in the Catalan, Iberian and European context as well as in that of Latin America and Northwestern Africa.
